I realized that I had to create my very own online money making stimulus package when the government stimulus package failed to find its way to the rescue of my financially challenged "brick and mortar" business. I had to act. I no longer wanted to work long hours 7 days per week for a lacklustre monetary gain. I wanted to work 24 hours per day, 365 days a year and I wanted to create a fantastic lifestyle in the process.

For some time I was contemplating a possibility of an online residual income opportunity. Periodically, I searched for online affiliate programs. Unfortunately, many get-rich-quick schemes and bogus opportunities have inundated the internet turning me off every time.

I was clear on what I wanted:

• a company that provides real value to its consumers
• a trusted and legitimate business that rewards affiliates generously for their hard work
• a business offering top-performing affiliate program ready to bring in several residual income streams
• a ready-made free or low cost website that could be up in 24-48 hours, and that was extendable and modifiable to my needs and specifications
• a program that offered solid training, professional support, free resources and internet marketing tips and tools
• preferably, a program that hosted an active forum of like minded individuals willing to help and mentor the newcomer

Eventually I found what I was looking. It was not easy but I felt that it was a duty to myself to thoroughly research the program I wanted to embark on. I felt that it is my valuable time, effort and money that I will be investing and for that, I knew, I had to demand a quality online business opportunity.

In summary, it is important to remember that the potential to create your own online money making stimulus package essentially rests on three stepping stones: your chosen online business opportunity, the internet, and your ability to effectively market your online affiliate program.

Long ago, as a science undergrad, I was having a difficulty with some concepts in Physics 101. Confident, I approached my then husband, a brilliant nuclear physics graduate student, for help. Unfortunately, he was unable to perceive the possibility that this particular concept would be unclear to any student of physics. As well, he was unable to descend and explain the concept at the level of a beginner. By the end of our discussion I felt really dumb and I was reduced to tears.

This incident had a great impact on my life and proved to be a very valuable life lesson for me. I feel empathy for beginners. I value their experiences and their uncertainties. I encourage their questions and try to assure them that every question is a good question. I always try to imagine myself in their shoes and my aim is to answer their questions patiently and in a way that may build their confidence and allow them to rise to the next level.

In my subsequent blogs I will try to provide basic, yet invaluable, internet marketing for beginners tools and information. The information in my blogs will be researched, but often, it will be based on my personal experiences. I will share with you the wisdom I have learned from my research,  from my mentors and from my forum friends as they continue to help me on my journey from a complete newbie to a successful online entrepreneur.
